Systems Administrator

The System Administrator


This position will report to the IT Manager and operate within the Technology Services department. Technology Services handles all mission critical software platform support for the revenue generating operations department.


The System Administrator is responsible for providing our internal users solutions to their IT requests in a friendly and efficient manner. The System Administrator must have a deep and broad knowledge of computer software, hardware and networks. S/He will be responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting our company’s computer systems. The System Administrator will design and oversee local area networks, wide area networks, and network segments. Daily tasks may include installing, upgrading and monitoring software and hardware. The System Administrator will maintain the essentials such as operating systems, business applications, security tools, web-servers, email, laptop, and desktop PCs.


Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems

Ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together
Make recommendations for future upgrades
Maintain network and system security
Troubleshoot problems reported by users and analyze and isolate issues
Monitor networks to ensure security
Evaluate and modify system’s performance
Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers
Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security
Ensure network connectivity throughout a company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations
Design and deploy networks; Maintain network servers such as file servers, and VPN gateways
Perform network address assignment
Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration
Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services
Administer servers, laptop and desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, company mobile phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches


3-5 year’s experience with the Windows operating system, MS Active Directory and networking (including DHCP, DNS, etc.), installation and maintenance of servers, workstations and infrastructure hardware. 

Mid-level Windows Systems Administration experience, standing up and troubleshooting servers.

SAN and NAS experience is required.

Veeam Backup experience

Virtual experience working with VMWare

Detailed technical knowledge in Windows, OSX and iOS required

Experience dealing with users from a help desk required. Very strong interpersonal skills.

Must be able to handle an environment that requires multi-tasking, switching between low level technical hardware tasks to high level planning with different departments on a day to day basis

Experience with Office 365 and SharePoint required.

SQL Knowledge not required but is a plus.

Associate (2 – year) or Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major or equivalent desired but experience and strong aptitude will be looked at favorably



Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.

No regular travel required.
